Honesty in Education: The Truth about Ohio’s “Divisive Concepts” Bills
September 7, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Ohio students need an honest, comprehensive curriculum to prepare them for economic success and civic mindfulness. But the Ohio legislature is considering two bills that would damage learning at both the K-12 and college levels by banning accurate accounts of culture and history as “divisive.”
These bills are themselves divisive, eroding trust in our teachers and in our communities. And they stand in the way of preparing our students for a complex world.
Join the Save Ohio Higher Ed coalition for an online forum on Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00-8:30 pm Eastern.
- Learn about the toxic bills under consideration, HB 322 and HB 327.
- Find out how they would undermine learning, endanger school accreditation, and harm Ohio’s economy.
Take action with legislators, school boards, and public policymakers to protect education for the good of all Ohioans.
Forum participants include Gary Daniels (Chief Lobbyist, ACLU); Pranav Jani (Faculty, Ohio State University); Scott DiMauro (President, Ohio Education Association); Lisa Vahey (Honesty for Ohio Education co-founder); Anagha Velamakanni and Holly Paden (Ohio Students Association); and Elliott Vahey (Honesty in Higher Ed Youth Coalition).
