ONE gives early career educators and early career education support professionals an intentional space to engage in continual learning and share resources and best practices.
That’s why Ohio’s New Educators (ONE) is excited to offer the Beyond the Classroom Fall Series, a virtual learning series where you can connect with, learn from, and share ideas among fellow early-careers educators, ESPs, and education leaders across Ohio.

Host: Katie Fuller and Brittany Anders
This virtual session will be fun, informative, engaging, and above all, real! We will highlight specific strategies on how to promote a positive, cooperative, and safe school environment through an evidence-based tiered framework; Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS). We will share examples, resources and best practices for academic success and social emotional competence. These techniques are not just for working with students in the classroom. However, they can be implemented in the cafeteria, on the bus and can be reinforced at home. When PBIS programs are done well, we create spaces with less discipline issues and a more welcoming climate and culture. Thus, implementing PBIS in our schools can also help us improve our own educator health and well-being.

We’ll feature educators who are putting this into everyday practice. They will be sharing “real-life” techniques of what it looks like both before, during, and after implementation. De-esca…. What?! We all know students at times just “can’t even”! We will highlight specific tips and tricks to help you de-escalate a student (and even a coworker) when the time arrives.
