We invite you to the first OEA-R Lobby Day on Wednesday, May 8 at the state capitol dedicated solely for retired members to advocate for public education and retirement issues.
OEA-Retired Member Lobby Days provide an opportunity for retired members to meet with state legislators to discuss key educational and retirement issues. To broaden support for public education issues and build partnerships with other public education stakeholders. At the in-person lobby day, members will be briefed by OEA staff on current legislative issues and will have an opportunity to meet with state lawmakers and staff. The interaction of OEA retired members with elected officials is critical to improving the policies that impact retired educators and public education.
The lobby day pre-briefing will take place on May 1 (on Zoom) at 1pm and a brief discussion on May 8 before members leave for appointments. The specific issues to be discussed and talking points will be released prior to lobby day.
